I think I can say that it spans so many genres I couldn't explain it, but I look forward to seeing what this site may offer.

78 book lover all my life since 1943. Why then? Because it was wartime, I and other schoolboys were sent out to gather unwanted books to be pulped for the war effort. Confession, they didn't all make it. I had never had a book, not even from the library, it was 5 miles away and you had to walk, and couldn't resist H Rider-Haggard, hid them under my bed, etc. Once bitten I was committed to a life of reading and it got worse when I moved to Cambridge in 1976 and discovered Heffers, bigger than any library I'd known, absolute Aladdin's Cave that has consumed far too much of my money since.
