1.5 stars. Only because it did give me the odd laugh. (I'm easily amused.) Otherwise a pathetic rerun of characters that haven't grown at all in the intervening years. Dorothy Parker's words would be well suited to this one: Not a book to be tossed aside lightly, but thrown with great force!

Found myself thinking the message one takes away by the end of this "series" is that it doesn't matter if you are total bollocks at everything else, as long as you eagerly shag every available male, you will find one to take care of you, and that, of course, is the main pursuit in life. It's all about booze, sex and sigarettes, but in a very sad "I-don't-know-what-to-do-with-my-life-so-I'll-just-keep-doing-what-I'm-good-at"-way. I think the word 'fatuous' fits the main character quite well.
If you feel like reading something similiar, just grab the diary of a random 15 year old. ("Oooh, I'm too fat!" "I need a boyfriend!" etc.)
